Traffic Jam in Roundstone!
We left this beautiful island today and headed back home. On the way back we thought we would go down to Roundstone and see the workshop of one of Ireland's leading bodhran makers, Malachy Kearns. When we were driving through Roundstone we got caught in a traffic jam! A van and a car had got struck and were blocking the road. While I was waiting for the traffic to clear I stuck the camera out the car window and took this picture! Who would believe looking at this that you are caught in traffic!

Omey was great, a real tonic of peace and quiet and a chance to wind down in preparation for a lot of travelling. I'll miss the quietness and the solitude and the desolate beauty of the place.

This old church appeared on the island about 20 years ago after being buried in the sand for about 300 years. Up to 400 people lived on Omey at one time before the Famine so this may have been a thriving church.

We took a last walk round the island and headed home on a beautiful evening. Got back to Winnie's house about 11.00pm.

We leave on Friday morning for India.
